I knew that I had not posted on this blog in a long time, but I didn't really realize how long it had actually been. I have recently been thinking that I needed to start posting here again, but just had not gotten around to it. Then a friend told me I'd "failed miserably" at blogging. Well, I guess she was right. I promise this time to do better.
I have a new reason to post regularly. I'm pregnant! Today was my 16 week checkup. I was able to hear the heartbeat again! My blood pressure today was 130/80 and I weighed in at 229. AHH! Ok, it's out there. I want to keep track of it so I might as well log it. I have gained 7 pounds since my first doctor's visit at 8 weeks. That is a little bit more than my doctor wanted me to gain, but only by a pound so far. I hope to keep my weight gain over the next month to 3 pounds or less. If I can do that I will enter the second half of my pregnancy up only 10 pounds, which my midwife said would be good.
I am seeing Jeri Willeby, a certified nurse midwife. I really like her so far. I have to meet the two doctors in the practice that also deliver babies just in case I go into labor when one of them is on call. I saw Dr. Durso today. He was nice and I like him ok. I still would prefer to have Jeri at my delivery and not anyone else.
I go back in 4 weeks and will have an ultrasound then. Tony will go with me and we will get to find out if it is a boy or girl then! I am very excited to find out. Neither of us has a preference about whether it is a boy or a girl. We just want to know. I want to be able to pick out names and know what kind of clothes, etc. to buy.
I think everyone in our families are excited. I think my parents are now telling everyone they see. lol.
This weekend should be a fairly laid back one. I promise to log on and give a brief "history" of the pregnancy so far. I want to start posting regularly and make this my journal for the pregnancy. I wanted to keep one from the beginning, but I just got lazy I guess. I was posting to my weight loss journal on the Disboards at first, but then decided that was pointless since I wasn't trying to lose weight AND I wasn't even being particularly careful about what I was eating. So, this is really the perfect place to log my day to day stuff.
